Over and over again, people ask me for a basic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. By now, I could probably make these cookies with my eyes closed, but I understand that may not be the case for most. The wonderful thing about this recipe is the versatility. I am able to omit the chocolate chips and add anything I wish, experimenting as I go!

Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 C Butter
1/2 C Brown Sugar
1/2 C White Sugar
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
1 C and 2 Tbsp Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 C Chocolate Chips
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Cream the butter and sugars. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well. Combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and beat to form a soft dough. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop by tablespoons full onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes
